request an appointmentWhat is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a modern teeth straightening system that can help you get a straighter, more brilliant smile. Instead of metal brackets and wires that traditional braces are made of, Invisalign is made of transparent plastic, allowing you to straighten your teeth discreetly.
Who is a candidate for Invisalign?
Both adolescents and adults are good candidates for Invisalign. The treatment works best in people who have mild to moderate teeth crowding or bite problems.
If you have severe alignment issues, however, braces or another orthodontic treatment may be better for you. During your consultation, Dr. Talerman is happy to help you determine whether Invisalign right for you.
What is the process of getting Invisalign?
During your appointment, Dr. Talerman evaluates your teeth and creates an Invisalign treatment plan tailored to you. He then takes impressions of your mouth and sends them to a lab, where your aligners are fabricated based on your exact dimensions.
Once they are created, Dr. Talerman checks the fit of the aligners to ensure that they fit in your mouth properly. Dr. Talerman provides a personalized touch to your Invisalign treatment, making sure that every step is carefully monitored.
Your Invisalign aligners snap snugly over your teeth, and no one will even know you have them on unless you tell them. You wear your aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day, only taking them out to eat or brush. You can also take them out for a special event, such as a job interview or date.
You wear each pair of aligners for about two weeks and then move on to a new pair of aligners that continue to straighten your teeth.
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
The length of your treatment varies from person to person and depends on your specific goals. The shortest treatment course is usually around 9 months, but treatment may take up to 18 months for some people.
Dr. Talerman can give you an estimate of the length of your treatment during your consultation.
